From one of Chablis’ most revered traditionalists, Louis Michel & Fils, comes this old-vine bottling from the Butteaux lieu-dit, a sub-climat of Montmains famed for its steep slopes and deep clay-limestone soils. With vines averaging over 75 years of age, the 2021 Butteaux Vieilles Vignes is a wine of density, drive, and unmistakable terroir character.
Vinified entirely in stainless steel, it delivers precision without oak influence, showcasing aromas of lime leaf, crushed shell, and chalk, with hints of green pear and white flowers. The palate is taut, textured, and mineral-rich, offering intense citrus and stone flavors wrapped in electric acidity and a long, bracingly dry finish.
This is Chablis for purists and collectors, with serious aging potential.
Drink 2025–2035. Decanting optional, but will benefit from air.
